Aurum designer-jewellers is a contemporary jewellers based in West Sussex.
The business was set up in 1985, by jewellery-designer Andrew Leggett, who had spent the preceding 10 years making high-class contemporary jewellery in the London workshops, of eminent London jewellery designers John Donald and the late Geoffrey Turk.
Having set-up business in his home town of Worthing, Andrew continued working alone in the workshop for the first sixteen years.
Moving to a slightly larger premises in 2001 meant there was room for more benches, and there are now three goldsmiths creating contemporary jewellery in the workshop above the showroom.
Virtually everything is produced to commission.
When recruiting a new goldsmith the company takes a graduate with a degree in jewellery design, fresh from university and trains them in-house to produce work to Andrew Leggett’s exacting standards.

The scale of our work ranges from fine and delicate to chunky and even "outsize".
Our stock pieces are often used as inspiration for our clients when designing their own pieces, although much of the bespoke jewellery we create bears no resemblance whatever to our "house style".
Our talented team thrives on the challenges that come with each new commission.
Although most of our clients visit us in person, we frequently undertake commissions for bespoke contemporary jewellery from all over the UK and abroad, with all arrangements being made using e-mails and phone calls.

When you commission a piece of bespoke jewellery from Aurum, you deal direct with Andrew Leggett, or with one of his small team of highly-skilled jewellery designers and goldsmiths.
Because we are the makers we understand the technicalities involved in the design, and can give you expert advice along the way.
We guide you through the design process, answering questions and giving you all the advice you need.
Usually the goldsmith you speak to will be the one who actually makes your piece of jewellery, if you decide to order. - A very personal one-to one service.
